The ACFFL Rule Book

League Commissioner: Jeff Kozel
League Scorekeeper:  John Kozel
League Treasurer: Jane Pilkerton

The Commissioner will have authority and settle all disputes on all trades, rule interpretations, and other issues regarding the league.

The Scorekeeper will maintain the league's scoring, maintain rosters, and distribute weekly scoring and roster summaries. Questions regarding scoring should be directed to the Scorekeeper.

The Treasurer will pay out weekly and yearly winners and collect funds on all trades and drop/adds.

ENTRY FEE: $130

DRAFT:

  • All teams will select a total of sixteen (16) players/positions
  • Drafting will reverse order in alternating rounds (team picking at end of Round 1 will pick first in Round 2 and so on)
  • Entry fee will be paid prior to the drafting of players
  • Defense/Special Teams/Kicker – selection of a team will give you their defensive unit, special teams, and kicker
  • 2-minute time limit for draft picks

DRAFT ORDER:

Will be determined on draft day one hour before the drafting of players.

LINEUPS:

You will be required on a weekly basis to play the following lineup:

  • One (1) Quarterback
  • Two (2) Running Backs
  • A combination of four (4) Wide Receivers and/or Tight Ends
  • One (1) Defense Team

Prior to the start of the week's first game, lineups should be posted on the message board (http://acffl.proboards56.com) under the entry for that week (i.e. a message will be posted for "Week 1 lineups" and everyone can enter their team by replying to this posting).  If you are unable to  post your lineup for a particular week on the board, it can be called into or emailed to the Scorekeeper.  The Scorekeeper will try to catch up with called in or emailed lineups on the message board but it would be more "real-time" if everyone would post their own team. If you are unable to get access in a timely manner, please email or call in your lineup so there are no timing conflicts. If you do not submit a lineup for a given week, your prior week's lineup will be used. The Scorekeeper will forward his weekly lineup to another member of the league or post it as appropriate.

Lineups can be submitted until kickoff the first game (1:00 PM) when the first game of the week is on Sunday. For instances where there are Thursday and Saturday games, you may submit partial lineups. That is, you may say that I am starting Players A and B in Thursday's game and then call in, e-mail or post the remainder of your lineup by the usual Sunday deadline. For pre-Sunday games, you must notify the Scorekeeper even if you do not intend to use anyone in that game.

SCORING:

League scoring will be based on touchdowns, field goals, and conversions (one- and two-point) only. Points will be awarded using the following system:

Touchdowns:

0 - 9 yards: 6 points
10 - 39 yards: 9 points
40+ yards: 12 points

You will receive straight points when your position player scores a touchdown natural to his position (i.e., QB throw, RB run, WR and TE catch). You will receive double points when your player scores a touchdown not natural to his position (i.e., QB runs or catches, RB catches or throws, WR and TE throws or runs).

All defensive and special teams' touchdowns will be awarded straight points (6, 9, or 12).

Defenses/special teams will be awarded points for all fumble recoveries and interceptions returned for touchdowns, punt and kickoff returns for touchdowns, touchdowns of special team fake plays on punts and field goals, and all of that team's kicker points.

Kickers:

Kickers will be awarded points based on the following system:

1 point for extra points
3 points for field goals from 1 to 39 yards
5 points for field goals from 40 to 49 yards
10 points for field goals from 50+ yards

Two-point conversions:

The players converting the two-point conversions will be awarded 2 or 4 points (including kickers) using the same rationale as touchdown scoring (e.g., double points for QB running for the conversion).

PRIZES:

High starting lineup point total for the week will be awarded $20. Team with the highest scoring starting player for the week will be awarded $10. In the event of a tie in either case, the money will be split evenly.

End-of-year prizes will be awarded based on cumulative scoring for the year. Top four (4) finishers will earn prize money portions shown below:

45.0% for First Place
27.5% for Second Place
17.5% for Third Place
10.0% for Fourth Place

End-of-year available pot will be entry fees and drop/add plus trade receipts less the weekly winner prize money.

DROP/ADDS AND TRADES:

Drop/Adds will be done on a bidding basis starting at $3. Equal bidding on a drop/add for the same player will be decided by current standings. The team with the lesser amount of points will be awarded the player. The dropping of one player from your roster and addition of a new player is considered one transaction and costs $3 (not $3 for dropping a player and an additional $3 for adding a player).

Drop/adds will be called into the Treasurer from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm the day before the week's first game (i.e., Wednesday when there is a Thursday game, Friday when there is a Saturday game, and Saturday when no games take place until Sunday).  The Treasurer will post the drop/add results on the message board after the drop/add period. If for some reason you are not able to access the message board or can’t contact Jane directly, you can play contingency lineups to cover yourself (e.g., if I get Player A, he is my starting QB, if not, then Player B is my QB). JB-Rex will do drop/adds by contacting another member of the league management via email or telephone during the call-in period.

All trades will cost $3 per player per team making the trades. Trades must be submitted to the Commissioner for approval by the end of the above referenced Drop/Add period for the week. Approval must be obtained prior to using any traded players in a weekly lineup. If the League Commissioner is involved in a trade, approval of the trade falls to the League Scorekeeper. If the League Commissioner and Scorekeeper are involved in a trade, approval of the trade falls to the League Treasurer. Trades are allowed all season. "Boomerang trades" are not allowed. If approved, the teams are responsible for notifying the Scorekeeper of the transaction. Approved trades will be posted on the ACFFL message board.

WEEKLY SUMMARY:

The Scorekeeper will maintain the scores for all teams and provide a summary of weekly scoring and transactions, cumulative scoring, and players available. The Scorekeeper will post this information on the ACFFL Homepage ASAP ( http://acffl.x10hosting.com/ ).
